RE: Digital Downloads of Comics
Treb, I use Mobipocket.

I also used Microsoft Reader more, but after MS quit supporting it, I let it fall by the wayside. I still use it occasionally because I have DRM-ed ebooks that need MS Reader.

I'm interested in the Sony Reader, but I think I'll wait for another generation or two on that one.

I enjoy reading strips, but not standard comics on line.

It's a little that the interfaces aren't quite up to snuff. I'd love a hover/panel zoom feature.

To succeed on screen the typical comic/printing page size needs to be abandoned. It is too limiting to it's potential, and the artists themselves.

The problem is that online, you still have to assume 800 x 640 resolution and 72 dots per inch. That limits you.

I agree that the interface isn't up to snuff. There really needs to be a comic reader that becomes as invisible to the user as a paper comicbook

The "Heroes" comic over at nbc.com is a prime example of this. I read it, but it's a very obtrusive reader. I try to navigate in what I consider to be an intuitive fashion that doesn't work.

Linking this back to a thread on ebooks, there are manga out for the Sony Reader. It's pretty much 4 gray shades, but it's a start. I've heard it's really not too bad, but I have no personal experience with it. In my opinion, that's really the way to go: a dedicated reading device.

RE: Digital Downloads of Comics
I have got a couple of digital comic for the iPad, they are nice and I may end up getting a few more down the road.
Thought there is still an appeal for having the paper form of the comic. Some time the analog is better than the digital form.
