Terminator 4: Cast Rumors and Film Details

Only a couple of days ago, Celebrityspotlight.co.uk put up information that both Rachel Weisz and Chloe Sevigny are battling it out for a role in T4. Here is what the article had to say.

Quote:The Hollywood beauties both tried to impress the producers of the much-anticipated sequel during a Dazed and Confused magazine party at New York nightclub The Box on Sunday (09.09.07).

Weisz, 36, and 32-year-old Sevigny are said to have wasted no time in approaching Derek Anderson and Victor Kubicek, both big hitters at Halycon Company who own the rights to the movie.

A source told the New York Daily News newspaper: "Chloe and Rachel personally inquired to Anderson and Kubicek about the role at the party."

The cast for the film is yet to be named, but it is believed a high profile "hunk" has already been cast as the male lead.

However, Weisz may struggle to fit any new projects into her already busy schedule.

She is already signed up to star in director Peter Jackson's 'Lovely Bones' and next year will start shooting 'Sin City 2' with filmmaker Robert Rodriquez.

Meanwhile, Sevigny has low-profile German romance 'Peter and Catherine' on her current filming schedule.

IGN spoke with James Middleton, consulting producer on The Sarah Connor Chronicles, where he gave some information on whats going on with the T4 film.

Quote:IGN spoke today with James Middleton, consulting producer on the new FOX TV series Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, who gave us a few tidbits about where things stand with Terminator 4.

Middleton informed us that T4 is happening with The Halcyon Company, who owns the franchise rights. It will be written by Michael Ferris and John D. Brancato, the same team that wrote Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines. Halcyon would like to be in pre-production in October with an eye towards a 2009 release.

No director is signed yet, but they are close, according to Middleton. He added that the sequel will not be called Terminator 4, but instead will use the title Terminator and have some sort of subtitle, as in Rise of the Machines.

It will follow the events of T3 and be post-apocalyptic. It's not known whether Nick Stahl and Claire Danes will return, but John Connor and Kate Brewster are in the script. Middleton said the participation of Stahl and Danes would depend on many factors, including the thoughts of the eventual director and others involved. Also, while John and Kate are part of the story, the movie will feature a new hero as the main character. Middleton likened it to how "Ben-Hur was influenced by Jesus Christ, but it was his story. Much in that way, this character will be influenced by John Connor."

The plan is for this to be the first of three new movies, all of them set in this post-apocalyptic future and showing the war with the machines.

To be honest, I really don't care about the Rachel Weisz and Chloe Savigny story, so what ever happens, happens. If I had to choose between the too, Rachel Weisz would be a givin yes.

The only thing that is really standing out for me is the simple fact that this film is going to be taking place during the war. That has me sooooo pumped to see this.

That said, I do think that this movie is not going to live up to T1 and T2... Just like T3, for the simple fact that T4 is being written by the same writters of T3. I hope that its going to be good, but I really don't have hope for it. Then again, not one single frame of footage has been shot yet, so who knows.

Also, remember several weeks ago when I posted about the possible return of Edward Furlong.... ok people can excercise and get into shape.. but this guy is a mess. This is a recent photo of Furlong.

RE: Terminator 4: Cast Rumors and Film Details
T3 was a blatant ad for a new trilogy based on John's life during the war.

I hope that they make a decent story out of any new films.... But I doubt it.

On another note that is barely tangental... hehe (prepare for brain injury):

In a time where the machines dominated the world. In a time where humankind is fighting for its very existence from its own creations something (not so) unique happened.
An external force changed the tide for the humans.
An alien race arrived that hunts prey for sport. They came expecting to find humans, one of their historically favorite prey and, instead, found a much tougher foe.

TvP: Terminators versus Predators

And, for good measure:
With them the aliens carry the seeds for a creature even more menacing and challenging a foe than humans could ever be. These creatures breed in two stages through the use of other animals as incubators and absorb the traits of the incubators in their adult form. While the hunter species was busy with their new mechanized prey their seed creatures were devastating the human population to increase their numbers.

TvPvA: Terminators versus Predators AND Aliens. Humans are really screwed this time.

I hope the movie has nothing to do with time travel and just the war in the future itself, that would just rock.

Good ideas Shadohrt.

Sin City 2, damn sight more excited about that movie.

No... If anything, he'll have a cameo and I doubt that he will. If you weren't lazyWink you see that a "New hero will be the main character."

Well I'm still waiting to see when we are going to get the the Grizzled "I'll chew you up, and spit you out as Bullets" John Conner, that we briefly see in the first movie.... or was it the second.....

You know battle scared and bad ass!!! The John Wayne, "Did you look at me funny? Let me adjust your attitude!!" Bad Ass that we saw for a few seconds of film.

That was my biggest problem with Nick.... He played such a wimpy John! It was more like he was trying to build on the emo John Conner of Edward Furlong.... which was fine when he was supposed to be a kid still.... But come on!!! He was an adult!!! Time to leave Emo behind and grow some stones!!!!

ok sorry..... off my soap box...

I dunno. Do you really want to see a Terminator movie without Ah-nold? He's the franchise. Would you have gone to see T2 if it was just Linda Hamilton? No. Which is why the TV show is gonna suck. Would you have gone to see T3 if it was just about Claire Danes and Nich Stahl? No. The best thing Cameron did was make Ah-nold's Terminator a hero. Unfortnate for any sequels without him, that is. Pass.

It's like Sherlock Holmes meets the 60's tv show The Avengers with a dash of James Bond for flavor
